The Das Avataar refer to the 10 Incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The first 4 Avataars - Matsya Avataar, Koorma Avataar, Varaaha Avataar and Nrisimha Avataar are said to have appeared in Krita Yuga. The next 3 Avataaras – Vaamana Avataar, Parasuraama Avataar and Sri Rama Avataar in Treta Yuga. The Krishna Avataar in Dwaapara Yuga. And the Buddha Avataar in Kali Yuga. The last Avataar – Kalki Avataar – the destroyer of the wicked, is scheduled to appear at the end of the Kali Yuga, about 4,27,000 years from now. This Avataar will initiate the new Sathya Yuga – the age of the Virtuous. |
